After creating 100 digital products, these

two sell best together

After creating and selling over 100 different types of digital products, I've learned that these two types of digital products pair best together to grow your business quickly and help your students as best as possible.

Intro…

Hi, I'm Molly I started as a broke college dropout with just 81 cents to my name and I leveraged that into a multi-six figure per year photography studio then I started creating content for other photographers and I grew that into two million dollars per year online education business and now I help content creators just like you to monetize your content with digital info products so you can help your audience on a deeper level and make a full-time living doing what you love.

It's true guys at one point, I had over 100 different digital products and NO I would not recommend it.

But after creating all those products and testing different sales methods, I've learned that pairing two different digital products is the best absolute way to grow.

So one of the ways I kind of stumbled into this amazing pairing was I noticed over the years that a lot of people were creating courses and what I noticed with these courses was a lot of people were giving lifetime access to these courses. That's something that I do with my course as well, I think lifetime access to the actual content is good.

But one thing I noticed that I think was a really big mistake that people were teaching in this digital space was to also include group coaching in your online course.

The thing is that… they weren't differentiating the lifetime access and the group coaching.

So for example I bought a course way back in the day and they said lifetime access to everything, and one of the things listed was group coaching.

Well, it's really not feasible sustainable, or realistic to offer coaching for a lifetime!

Like, there's just no way that you're going to be able to trade your time for money when you're getting paid a one-time fee!

I really started thinking…

“I like the idea of giving the course itself, the login for a lifetime of the program but the coaching thing just doesn't make any sense.”

So that’s when I started to create—Memberships!

Membership is actually the back end of my course.

I gave people lifetime access to the course, but when it comes to group coaching, I have a separate product which is a “Membership” that has a separate monthly fee.

2 Digital Products That Sell Best Together

Now the best digital product pairing is a one-off purchase on the front end and a membership on the back end. It’s not limited to courses & membership alone, it could be:

1. Online Course & Membership

2. Ebook & Membership
3. Guide & any kind of Digital Download

How to Select a Pair of Digital Products

My three-part framework:

1. Choose your front-end digital product

Front-end products are a one-off purchase. It means it’s not a recurring purchase, but a one-time purchase digital product. This could be a guide, an ebook, templates, or courses. It could be any digital product that has a one-time price.

Your front-end digital product must really be one that solves a very painful problem for your ideal clients and must be valuable enough for them to be willing to pay for it.

2. Choose your back-end membership

When somebody buys this front-end product, think of:

-What is the problem they're gonna have next?

-What are they going to need support with, are they going to want a community or a group coaching?

-What kind of support will they need and what kind of membership can you create around that?

3. Decide how you're gonna move people from that front-end one-off purchase to your back-end membership

Think about how are you going to move those people from your front-end digital one-off product to your back-end membership!

You may utilize email marketing or your social media platforms to advertise it! There are lots of ways you could do that.

Example:

An example of my front-end product is—15-Day Digital Product.

It’s a one-time purchase ebook with easy-to-follow daily steps to create and passively sell digital products in 15 days.

…and I have my membership called Freedom Creator Club which is $49 a month membership that serves as my back-end membership.

Now, I am moving people from the ebook to the membership, and there are a number of ways I do this.

For instance, after somebody purchases my one-off digital product which is the ebook, I bring them to a thank you page that can upsell them to the membership.

Another thing is, I make an order bump on my checkout page and say something like this:

“Hey, if you want group coaching to go along with this product, click here to add this to your order.”

And lastly, by creating an email series for those who purchase the front-end digital product and really guiding them along to get results and then along the way say,

“By the way, if you have questions or need further support, check out Freedom Creator Club.”

Final Thoughts

In conclusion, it is clear that the path to success in the digital product landscape does not lie in creating hundreds of offers.

Focus on one or two main digital products and use your time & efforts to improve them and your sales strategy.

Most importantly, focus on helping your clients on a deeper level and create products that will solve their painful problems.

I hope that this article has given you some insight into how you can select the best pair of digital products!

Let me know what you think about this digital product pairing!

Thanks a bunch!
