What is an Ebook
An ebook is an electronic version of a printed book that can be read on a computer or a handheld device.
Below is an example of an ebook that I made:
Think of ebooks as PDFs that are going to help solve a problem.
You're going to do this by sharing your strategies inside of your ebook, along with things like templates and scripts.
A lot of people take the word book in ebook way too seriously. But you don't want your ebook to be a whole dang book.
Let me ask you this if I said my ebook will help you make an extra thousand dollars would you rather learn how to do that in five pages or 50 pages?
I'm gonna guess five!
For me, helping someone to get a result with your ebook in as little time as possible is what will make your ebook even more valuable.
How to come up with your Profitable Ebook Idea
E-books still sell like crazy, but more now than ever before.
When creating an ebook, you need to focus on solving a painful, time-sensitive problem. My key rule is to write an ebook with information that is so good and is going to get somebody an amazing result!
Not only will you receive free word-of-mouth marketing, but you'll also be able to use your ebook to help thousands of people.
Another thing to keep in mind when creating your ebook is to be more specific. The small the result is the better.
For example, you don't want to get somebody a result on: “how to be happier in life”
That is so vague!
You have to understand the concept of really niching in and helping somebody get a pretty niche result.
For example, one of my ebooks was called Model Call for Photographers.
In this ebook, I just simply shared the systems, and processes that I already had in my business. Basically, I teach on the ebook what was working for me to get bookings and I packaged them into a PDF for other photographers. There are only 13 pages in the entire ebook. I gave them scripts, templates, and useful examples that can help them get more bookings.
My ebook worked so well, that those who bought said they got results and they also told their friends about it.
It was amazing! And it’s the exact kind of result that you want your ebook to produce.
Your ebook topic could be anything.
Now, of course, it doesn't need to be money-making or how to XYZ for a business, it can be how to start a garden, a dog training, or fitness related. The possibilities are endless.
Below are a series of questions that might help you uncover your profitable ebook idea:
-What are things that you like doing?
-What are things that you like helping people with?
-What is the result that you've gotten for yourself that you could get for others?
-What are the questions people ask you?
-What are things that people come to you to get help on?
These questions might start to get your wheels turning about what your ebook should be.
Also, keep in mind that the very topic can be the thing that comes naturally and easily to us. We might think “oh well nobody else is going to want to learn that thing” but don't discount that.
Just because it comes easy to you doesn't mean it comes easy to others.
How to actually create your Ebook
Let's talk about how to actually create your ebook step-by-step.
1. Make an outline, and compile the information in a word document
So the very first thing you need to do is gather the data. I'd advise starting a Word document or other type of document where you can at the very least outline or index the content of your ebook.
Remember less is more.
A collection of writing, scripts, templates, and samples may also make up your ebook.
Just bear in mind to keep it as brief as you can.
2. Design your Ebook in Canva
Once you've done compiling the content of your ebook, then you're going to design your ebook in Canva.
Canva is like Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator except for way easier to use and free.
You can simply click on “Create a design” and click “Media Kit”.
Then choose a template to customize. You can add your photos, change fonts & colors, add your logo, and edit the text.
Below are an example of Canva Media Kit templates:
How to start selling your Ebook passively
Once you have your ebook created, it is now time to start selling your ebook.
To sell your ebook passively, you need a platform to host your ebook—a funnel.
A funnel sounds way scarier than it is, but it's literally just a series of web pages to simply sell your ebook and get paid.
The sales page must include an explanation of what the ebook's all about, and a little space where they can enter their name, email address, and their payment information. Once people submitted their payment information they'll be routed to the next screen which is a thank you page. They will also receive an email with the link to download the ebook.
Sounds complicated?
If you’re a beginner, I totally understand!
I am here to gift you yet another tool that is going to save you a ton of time and money.
If you don't know, my husband Aaron and I own our business together and he is a super super funnel tech I.T nerd. He actually agreed to create a funnel for you. Check the description on my Youtube Channel: Build Passive Income with Ebooks (+Free Templates!) or download it here for free: https://www.freedomcreator.co/list-builder
You may be wondering what software this funnel was built on.
We used a software called Systeme.io.
It’s an all-in-one marketing platform that is 100% free for up to 2000 email subscribers.
And they don't throttle any of the features so you will be able to download that template, customize it and start getting customers.
So how do you actually get people to go to your funnel to purchase your ebook?
When it comes to that, the possibilities are truly limitless. Here are some of the ways you can promote your ebook funnel.
-List it on your website (take note that you can use Systeme.io to build your own website)
-Put a link to your ebook funnel in your LinkTree on Instagram or TikTok or any social media
-Create TikTok and IG reels to promote people to go to click the link in your bio
-If you have a Youtube Channel, put the link in the description
-If you have an email list, you can write a series of emails promoting people to go to the funnel to purchase your ebook if it's a fit for them
-If you have a Blog, you can make a blog post about it
I think you're starting to see the number of different places where you can send traffic to your funnel.
Now take note that when it comes to sending traffic to your ebook funnel, not every single person is going to buy. But be patient!
Let's say a hundred people go to your page and a certain percentage of them will buy. Once you figure out that data then it's just a numbers game. You can just send more and more traffic and get more and more sales which ultimately becomes the passive income that you've been wanting from your ebook.
Final Thoughts
All in all, building passive income with ebooks is possible.
Make sure your ebook will help your ideal client solve their problem as quickly as possible.
Hope that all that I’ve shared with you in this blog is helpful!
Now, do you have an ebook in mind that you want to create?
