Printables are some of the easiest digital products to get started with.

And today, I'm going to show you how to create your own printables step by step to sell for passive income.

What is a Printable?

A printable is simply a digital product that somebody can purchase online digitally and then print out on their own home printer or send to FedEx to have it printed.

Here are some examples of printables I started with in my digital online business:

1. Habit Tracker

One of the printables that I made recently is a habit tracker.

A lot of people sell printable habit trackers online and these are actually digital.

You buy the digital file, you can use it digitally or you can print it off on your home printer, so you can physically put a checkmark next to each habit, every single day.

2. E-Book

Another example of a printable is an e-book.

You can print out an E-book on your home printer or send it to FedEx to be printed.

Below is an example of my e-book that I printed into a physical copy.

3. Partnership Kit

When I first got started with printables, I was a professional photographer with my own studio, and other photographers were asking me how I did it.

So the first thing I started with was actual printables that they could use to help them book more clients and help them grow their own studios.

Below are examples of printables I offered for sale on my photography website:

I also created what I called—a partnership kit.

This came with actual partnership items that they could print off to partner with other businesses in their area so that they could grow their own business.

Some of the things included in the printable partnership kit:

-Thank you cards

-Gift cards
-Little cute thank you tags

-Templates for photographers to make photo albums

And a lot of different things that will help photographers in their business.

Things to consider when Creating Printables

When creating printables, think of who is your ideal client, what is your niche, and what is something you can create for them to help them get a result.

You may get a better idea of the printables to sell by identifying your target market and niche for your printable business. It’s always easier to start when you know who is your target client and so you can create the best products that will meet their needs.

How do you actually create Printables?

Now, this will depend on what printable you're creating.

But, let's say you're going to create a habit tracker. Well, you can actually do this using Canva.com.

First, go to Canva and type in the search bar ‘’Habit Tracker’’.

It's going to bring up a bunch of habit-tracking templates.

Choose a template design and customize it to your liking. You can use whatever fonts and colors it is that you want to use.

You can also customize the text.

Let’s say, you want to track morning habits with this tracker.

I recommend that you use Canva’s Magic Write feature to come up with a list of morning habits that you should track.

First, open a document inside Canva.com.

Then click the + (plus sign) and choose Magic Write on the drop-down menu.

Then type in ‘’17 morning habits that you should track’’ and hit enter.

It will auto-populate 17 morning habits that you should track.

You can use the results as an inspiration to create your own habit lists or you can go in and fill these into your habit tracker.

And now you have a completed printable that you can go ahead and start selling online.

How do I actually sell my Printables?

The easiest and best way to sell your printables is through your own website.

If you already have a website, simply create a page on which you can list your printables for sale.

Then it's as easy as growing a following and driving traffic to that page or website.

Let me show you an example of how to list and sell printables on your website. Here's one of my favorite Instagrammers, Kate Eskuri:

Kate sells her printables on her website, and this is how it looks:

If you click on the shop, it'll take you to all of her digital products. And most of them are printables.

She has tracking sheets and goal setting bundle. She has a goal-setting guide, a pregnancy bundle, more habit-tracking sheets, and a journaling bundle.

When people find her on Instagram and click the link in her bio, it will route them to her website. When they click on the shop, they have the option to purchase additional things from her, like printables.

How do I get traffic to sell my Printables?

You may be wondering, ‘’how do I actually get traffic to that listing so that people will buy my printables?

But really quickly, I want to say that one of the best ways to grow your following is through IG reels, TikTok, and Youtube shorts.

Simply create short-form contents that will provide value to the audience and put the link of your printables listings on every caption.

There are other ways to attract people to see your listings, and I'm sure you can think of other ways to get more people to see them and make more sales!
