Easiest Passive Income - How to Sell Digital Products Online
In the last year, I've made $363,024 selling various digital products like courses, ebooks, workshops, memberships, and more.
And today, I want to show you why digital products are the easiest form of passive income and just how easy it will be for you to get started.
Why are Digital Products the Easiest Stream of Passive Income?
1. Not that costly to actually create the product.
If you were doing a physical product, you would have to actually create the prototype, come up with what you're selling, send it off, get it made, make tweaks, then order a large and expensive inventory of that product.
But with digital products, it's literally just the information that you already have inside of your head.
And then you can create that product using free tools online.
This is digital, thus, you can literally sell an unlimited amount!
You don't have to make a prototype. You don't have to find a manufacturer to create your product.
You just create it once and you can sell it over and over for an unlimited amount. And you don't need any money upfront to actually create the product.
2. Delivery is instant.
Once somebody actually buys your digital product, they're instantly going to get an email with the link or login to your digital product or courses.
You don't have to deal with shipping costs fluctuating in the times of shipping, or storing inventory.
Like I literally can't even imagine how complicated it must be to be like:
"Okay, we have this much money, we can order this much product, but we have to sell this much product or we lose all this money."
Like it just seems really, really stressful and complicated.
Whereas with digital products, you literally just make it once, host it online, and you don't have to deal with any of that— shipping, manufacturing, storage, inventory, nightmares.
3. You can come up with an idea that's already been done before.
With a physical product, you most likely need to come up with some really unique invention that's never been done before.
But with digital products, it's actually a good thing to have an idea that's already been done before.
For example, you want to make a course teaching about Instagram. Well, there's been a ton of people that have taught courses about Instagram.
But that is still great, it simply shows that there is proof in the market.
And if those people will buy an Instagram course from other people, they will also buy it from you.
4. With digital products and courses business, you are a brand personality.
So the reason that someone would buy a course from you over someone else's is because they like and resonate with you.
It means you get to just be yourself and create super fun content and people will be magnetically drawn to you.
They will find your digital product and purchase it, and it's just such a fun and easy business model.
Get Started Selling Digital Products
1. Choose your niche.
The first thing you're going to want to do is choose your niche and start making content around that niche.
Now you might be wondering, well, what social media channels should I be on?
It really doesn't matter!
Just pick one social media channel, so you could pick Instagram or TikTok or YouTube, Blogging, and Pinterest.
There's a lot of different options, but it's really important that if you're starting at zero or a very small following, just pick one platform to focus on.
And then once you've mastered that platform and everything's going smoothly, then you can consider adding a second platform.
I think this is where a lot of people go wrong. They try to be omnipresent on every single platform, and then they burn out and then they quit.
I don't want that to happen to you. So just start with one platform and I promise you, you will have enough growth on that platform if you put all of your time and energy into growing that one platform.
2. You don’t need a large following to start with digital products.
Let me give you a quick math.
Let’s say you have a following of maybe a thousand followers on Instagram.
Then, you create a freebie to get those people to give you their names and email in exchange for that free thing that you've created to get them onto your email list.
Let's say you get 100 out of those 1000 subscribers on Instagram on your email list.
So you now have an email list of 100 people. Well, on average, my students convert 1 to 5% of their email list to a course purchaser.
Then, let's say you have a $997 course, you have 100 people on your email list and you convert the average 3%, that would mean you're getting three sales, which would mean $3,000 in revenue.
How cool is that?
Then as you grow your following more and more, you're just growing your sales more and more.
So basically, you're going to want to grow a following and convert them to email subscribers.
But how do you do that for free?

1. Come up with a Product Idea
Well, the first thing you're going to want to do after you've chosen a niche and started to grow your following is to come up with your product idea.
The easiest and fastest way to do this is to simply survey your audience.
So ask them questions, and send out an email with a Google Form survey asking them:
-What's their biggest pain point?
-What are they struggling with?
-What would they pay for help with?
Things like that, to get an idea of what they would actually be interested in buying and getting help with from you.
2. Create a Funnel or Sales Page
Now the second thing you're going to want to do is actually create a funnel or a sales page or just simply a checkout page using Systeme.io.
A funnel is simply a series of web pages that shows the stages of when someone learns your business to actually make a purchase.
A sales or checkout page is basically a landing page where customers can submit payment information and complete their order.

3. Generate Leads through Social Media
Once you’ve grown your following on a certain platform, like Instagram, or YouTube, your next goal should be to get it in front of as many people as possible, your target audience as much as possible!
My strategy is actually to create content every single day that has a call to action in the description and a link to my funnel.
Let's say you make one reel per day and the call to action will guide them to that checkout page to buy your digital product.
It really can be that simple.
Create content, have a call to action, guide them to the checkout page, and sell digital products on autopilot!
Final Thoughts
In selling your digital products, there are many more ways to sell and many more robust ways to sell to get higher conversion rates.
Yet, the ideas and strategies that I shared here are what works best with my business.
