Email marketing is the use of email to promote your business's products and services. Simply put, it is a form of marketing that connects you to your potential clients.


There are different types of email marketing. But this is basically how it looks like.

When you go to an influencer’s website, they have what's called an opt-in form.

This is where the website visitor would put in their name and email address in exchange for something.


An incentive for people to provide their name and email address may be a discount on any goods they plan to buy from the business, free weekly emails with useful information, or even a free PDF download.


Then, once the person is on their email list, they're going to get an email with the thing that they signed up for. Since they have that person's email address on record, they can email them whenever they want to.


Advantages of Email Marketing


1. Full control over your followers/audiences


The important thing here is that once you've built your email list, you own it. Working with your email provider will enable you to download the CVS file whenever you want and back it up anywhere you want to.


So now you have full control over your followers’ information. You’re not just relying on something like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok or YouTube to just hope that they are not going to get the social media slap or even get banned.

One of the number one ways that we grow our email list is by creating free downloads. And what we do is we pair these with each of our YouTube videos. Well, any of the social media channels could change any of their rules anytime. They could shut down accounts or ban them, and there's nothing we can do about it. Thus, building an email list is crucial to maintaining your audiences and ensuring that your efforts are not wasted.


So how can you do this for your business?


Well, the first thing you should do is think of a lead magnet or freebie that you can offer to truly convert your social media followers into email subscribers.


Things to consider:


-What is the end result that you want to get by building an email list?

-What is the thing that you're selling?

-What are the topics that you're talking about for free on social media?


From there, you can come up with a lead magnet that would attract your social media followers enough to put in their name and their email address in exchange for that freebie or lead magnet.


If you are someone who is selling a physical product or something of that nature, you can always just give a percentage off that something that Kylie does on her cosmetics website.


So really take the time to brainstorm and think about something so good that somebody would be willing to put in their name and email address to join your mailing list.


This is what we do in my business:



One of the products we have in my business is a course called Profitable Courses.


So what I do is create a lot of free content around course creation, why courses are important and things like that. And then I will create a freebie that has to do with courses to attract those interested people onto my email list. And let them know about the course that I have for sale.


How do you set up the tech for something like this?


What we use is called a funnel.


A funnel is a series of web pages. The first page is going to be an area where people can put their name and email address. Once they click "submit," they will be taken to a thank you page, where they will receive an email with the lead magnet or freebie you promised them, and they will be added to your email mailing list.


Now, to do this, you're going to need a software. There are many software you can use for email marketing. But the software that we use is called Systeme.io. What I like about Systeme.io is that they have a free trial which is actually unlimited up to 2000 email subscribers. And even if you end up having to pay for more email subscriber, it is still very affordable.


How do you promote the freebie to get email subscribers?


Once you've come up with what your lead magnet is, you've created it and you've hosted it using some sort of email list billing software. You're probably going to want to know, how do you actually promote this freebie? So you could move your social media followers to email a subscriber.


Below are several different ways that you can do this:


1. Link in Bio & LinkTree


The fastest and easiest way to promote your lead magnet is to simply add a link in your bio.


I use something called LinkTree. So on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and any social media platform I have, I put that linktree link in my link in bio. And when someone clicks my link in bio, it's actually going to show them several different places they can go from there.


Now, let's say you're having a lot of free content about, I don't know, gardening. And then people want to click your link and bio to learn more, and you're going to have one or more freebies on gardening, what seeds to buy, what tools to get, whatever that freebie is, they're going to be like, ‘’Oh, well, I want to learn more because I've enjoyed this free content here. This is something that I want to learn about and now I want to learn more here. So I'm going to put in my name and email address to receive that freebie to learn more.’’


Now they're on your email list. You can send them some helpful nurture emails for a little while, and then maybe promote a course. Maybe you have a course on how to get started with gardening or how to care for your houseplants, whatever that is.


You want to think about moving them from a social media subscriber to your email list and then of course to the end result purchasing the thing it is that you sell.


2. Mention it on your social media caption



This is simple. Whenever you post something, a free content, reels, or photos, you can simple mention it in the caption. Once people click the link, it will route them to the page where they can put their name and email in exchange for the freebie or lead magnet.


3. Your website


You can of course mention it on your website and most of the influencers that I've talked about and researched for this video, they put these in pop ups all over their website.


A pop up is an excellent tool for this. It's simple since you're directing all these visitors to your website and encouraging them to sign up for your email list to get the incentive. All in all, just think to yourself where are you getting traffic and where can you put the link. Because the nice thing is that by offering your social media followers something they desire for free, you also have the benefit of building your email list.


You're giving them a freebie that's actually going to help them and, in return, you get them on your email list, which then you can promote any products that you have to sell later.
